Mission Statement
Hound Rescue, based in Central Texas, is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming beagles and beagle mixes in need. We provide critical medical care, safe foster environments, and adoption services to help every rescued hound find a loving, permanent home.
Through education, advocacy, and community outreach, we promote responsible pet ownership and work to reduce pet overpopulation. Our mission is to give hounds a second chance at life—ensuring they receive the care, compassion, and support they deserve.

I have volunteered for hound rescue since 2021 and recommend, I have fostered as well as helping with the website. It is almost magical watching the transition of rescued dogs especially when you are aware of what situation they were saved from. I also have adopted from them and she’s been the greatest fit for my family.

Hound Rescue is made up of miracle workers. They took in our two boys when their first Dad passed. Each of them weighed more than 60 pounds. Hound Rescue, and the best Foster Mom, changed their diet and exercise patterns and arranged for water treadmill therapy. When we were lucky enough to become their forever family, each had lost more than 20 pounds. We could not be happier or more grateful to everyone at Hound Rescue.

Happy Tails & Rescue Stories
Bentley and her nine beagle/husky puppies came to us from a high-kill shelter near the Texas Coast. It took us 19 days, 4 foster families, 4 volunteers, 4 vet appointments, lots of medication, sleepless nights, and love to get these babies matched with their perfect forever families.
